Let’s review what we covered in this module.
Organizing data collection training
Successful data collection training requires careful preparation. The national survey manager, in consultation with the survey coordination group and, when appropriate, supported by the lead facilitator, will:
- decide on the training strategy that will be appropriate for the country HHFA;
- adapt the training package to the country context;
- prepare a training plan; and
- select and prepare the facilitators.

The facilitation of HHFA data collection training
The training agenda consists of a 10-day training, including a field practice day and a troubleshooting day, with a schedule of 6 hours per day.
The workshop uses a variety of training methods, including individual and small group work, role play, and practice on tablets. Most of the sessions are facilitated through active learning activities, such as pre- and post-tests and practice exercises.
The training approach needs to adapt to:
- the gradual increase in familiarity of participants with the questionnaire;
- the scope of knowledge and level of detail of the different training phases.
