  5. Clinical quality of care.

HFA indicator inventory platform

The HHFA online indicator inventory platform contains all the HHFA indicators. Click each option to learn more about the platform.

  • Structure
  • The indicators are organized into service dimensions, areas, sub-areas and tables.
  • A metadata pop-up box displays detailed information about each indicator.
  • The country questionnaire adaptation process starts with reviewing the indicator inventory.
  • Types of indicators
  • The most common HHFA indicators are percentages and indices.
  • A percentage describes the relationship of the numerator to the denominator where the numerator is included in the denominator.
  • All the indicators in the same indicator table in the inventory platform have the same denominator.
  • An index is a type of indicator that is used to summarize a group of indicators.
  • There are a few other HHFA indicator types, namely counts and ratios.
  • Functions
  • The indicator inventory is periodically updated based on updates to the HHFA questionnaire.
  • A versioning system allows countries to access the version of the inventory that corresponds to the questionnaire version they have used.
  • Tabs under “Expand/Collapse” display the inventory platform content by the desired organization level.
  • The platform allows for different filter options, either through a search box, or through check boxes.
  • When individually displayed, each indicator shows different kinds of tags providing information about the module, the domain, and other attributes, such as being an index, a SARA indicator, etc.

Linking questions and indicators

  • Each HHFA question is linked to one or more indicators.
  • Each HHFA indicator is linked to one or more questions.
  • Each HHFA indicator has a permanent unique ID code.
  • The indicator reference questionnaire displays the indicators linked to each question.
  • An indicator can be found in the online indicator inventory platform by typing the unique ID code into the search box.
